A whistle brings them to the fence.
It's shrill and filled with confidence.
They prick their ears and sniff the air.
Who is that walking, coming near?

Someone who will touch your nose,
And rub your forehead, talk in prose,
Then paint your portrait as you stand,
With strokes made fine by brush in hand.
